Germans create real-life Octopus arms.
So, a German engineering firm has come up with a pair of artificial arms that are supposed to mimic an elephant’s trunk, buuuut in reality, they look almost exactly like Doctor Octopus’ arms from the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies. It…it’s a bit freaky.
Click below to see video :
The arms were developed to mimic the workings of an elephant's trunk, but there's no denying just how creepily effective they are at evoking one of Spider-Man's most famous antagonists. According to Geekosystem, the arms were created with 3D-printed segments and connected by pneumatic artificial muscles, and possess "artificial intelligence and muscle memory." This means - oh god - they learn and adapt.
